New audios: Nanomachines 1 and The Crow cycle 5
Nanomachines 1: The Son by Nikolai Novikov
I am a son, and I have nanomachines inside me. What did you expect?
Having gained self-awareness while still in my mother’s belly, I realized that this was my chance. Being born was the first step. Then at one year old I would have a college degree, and at five I would be a billionaire. I didn’t care that I remembered nothing of the past. This being a magical world, and with lots of smart tech, too, I’d catch up in no time, wouldn’t I?
Yeah, right.
“This baby’s dying!” — That is what I heard in the first minutes of my life.
I was dying? What? In the very first minute? Was this some kind of sick joke? Was the whole world against me?
Something had to be done…
The Crow cycle 5 by Dem Mikhailov
A plan. A sensible, efficient, and most definitely unrushed plan.
Every dwarf has one. Dwarves in general are like rhinoes—slow to get going, but unstoppable once they do. That's all because they always have a plan, which they pursue with the ruthless force of a steamroller.
The dwarf named Crow is no exception. He has a plan, too: one that is properly thorough, unhurried, and carefully laid out. One that accounts for everything, down to the smallest detail. This is the plan he has been following since the day he arrived at the Gray Peak outpost.
Sometimes, however, extreme circumstances can cause even the best-laid plans to crumble. In this case, the only option left is to rely on his own experience as a seasoned adventurer, as well as the help of his loyal friends: the assassin Lori, the bard Amou, and the relentless digger... that is, the cardmaster Mith.
