On the face of it, life at the Academy is right back on track: I’m a local celebrity, the disciplinary committee is off my back, and I finally have some free time in my schedule! Even a trip to the mysterious Archive promises no more than answers to a few old questions… All good, right?

Instead of some quiet reading time, I get a ‘blessing’ from Knowledge and a new role heading up the Emergency Response Committee. Now I have to deal with ‘emergencies’ that would turn ordinary mages’ hair grey: from possession by the Fairy Queen to bloody clashes with Envy.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the ocean, a ‘Mechanical God’ is being engineered to target me, the girls in my life are busy conspiring, and Princess Lunacetta seems determined to remind the world of who I was thousands of years ago.
And I just wanted to be a normal schoolkid...
