We at Magic Dome Books are always on the lookout for great new stories to add to our catalog. If you think you’ve written one, we’d be happy to try and change the world together!
Of course, all of us have our own ideas of what constitutes a great story. Here’s our take on what it means for us. Please be aware that we place great importance on the following things:
- The plot. It is important, you’d have to agree. The scene arcs which form the actual storyline should be as steep and picturesque as any Himalayan slope. A good book doesn’t ramble. It has to hook the readers from the start, making them eager to find out how it’s all going to work out, then answer this question at the end.
- The characters aren’t stock stereotypes whose sole task is to rush the MC through the plot. They’re fully fledged individuals with their own agendas who live their own lives within the context of the story.
- Your writing style. While we don’t expect you to be a silver-tongued wordsmith in possession of God-given eloquence, your grasp of writing techniques will play a paramount role in your book’s success with readers.
At the same time, we do know that a brilliant manuscript can well ignore all of the above and still be a work of genius. The history of literature abounds with such examples. Magic can’t be explained by a set of basic superficial rules. So if you’re sure that your manuscript possesses that touch of magic, feel free to try and charm us!
How can we be useful to you?
Firstly, the books we’ve published so far have found tens of thousands of grateful readers all over the globe. We have every reason to say that a book released under the logo of Magic Dome Books bears a mark of quality which lots of our followers trust.
Secondly, we work with all existing book formats, releasing paperbacks, eBooks and audiobooks – both independently and in collaboration with our partners. Each of these avenues is a gateway to a new readership and new sales, which is why we view working with different formats as one of our priorities.
Thirdly, currently our authors are published in English, German, Russian, Spanish, French, Polish, Czech and Korean languages. Which is quite impressive. By working with us, you get the rare opportunity to receive reviews of your books from every corner of the globe.
What we want from you:
Please submit a full manuscript accompanied by a synopsis of no more than 1000 words. We will consider a variety of fantasy and science fiction subgenres such as Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, Hard Science Fiction, Cyberpunk, Steampunk, LitRPG and Space Opera. Email us your work as an MS Word attachment, with a brief cover letter in the body of the email, to the following email address: agent[at]md-books.com. We promise to treat all incoming manuscripts with due care. The only rule that applies to everyone is that we’re currently considering only novel-size works of no less than 80,000 words. We can’t guarantee a prompt reply due to the sheer size of our slush pile, but we do read everything we receive and we will contact you within 90 days. We don’t critique submissions but we will do our best to offer our opinion of your work.
