The war with von Grave is over, and peace has finally settled over the Empire. For the first time in years, there is room to breathe—time for diplomacy, for rebuilding unity, and for tracking down every remaining legacy the Emperor left behind. There is even time, it seems, for my best friend’s wedding. For a brief, dangerously naive second, I almost believed it.
But peace is never unanimous. Not everyone welcomes the Empire’s new course, and old ambitions do not vanish simply because the war has ended. Former enemies are finding common ground, quiet alliances are taking shape, and familiar hands are already moving pieces behind closed doors.
