The virtual world of Galactogon is humanity’s latest achievement. Alexis Panzer isn't just an accidental onlooker: he’s been hired to take part in a contest. Alexis has to locate a planet which harbors a check for one billion credits: well enough to set not just him but also his grandchildren up for life.
The problem is, Alexis - or Surgeon as he chooses to call himself in the game - has no idea where the search might take him. He manages to discover a few leads which bring him closer to solving the mystery of Galactogon’s oldest sentient race. But who are they, our ancient invaders? Are they our enemies - or are they simply trying to help? To answer this question, Surgeon would have to get to the main space base of the now-extinct alien race.
