Progression Fantasy Books

Progression fantasy is speculative fiction in which the steady development of a hero’s abilities is one of the main driving forces of the story. The character learns, trains, unlocks new powers, overcomes limitations, and gradually gains access to more serious opportunities and opponents.

Unlike LitRPG, this genre does not require game levels, statistics, or system messages. Progression fantasy can use magical ranks, martial schools, evolving abilities, or other original systems for a character’s growth.
